Data Coverage & History Depth
Last updated: October 13, 2026
The short version
- English and Japanese Pokémon cards and sealed products. No other languages or games.
- Prices refresh daily.
- History starts when we began tracking a source, not when a card was released. Earlier periods are not backfilled.
- Your plan sets how far back you can request; it cannot return history that does not exist.
What we cover
| Source | English cards | Japanese cards | Sealed products |
|---|---|---|---|
| TCGplayer market prices (USD) | Yes | Yes | Yes, English and Japanese |
| Graded sales (eBay, Fanatics Collect) | Many cards | Many cards | No |
| Cardmarket prices (EUR, Beta) | Most cards | No | No |
| Population counts | Most cards | Some cards | No |
Not every card has every source. A card only has graded sales once graded copies have sold, and only has Cardmarket prices when it can be matched to a single Cardmarket product. Cardmarket prices are per card in two families — the primary printing and the reverse holo — as market, low, trend and 1/7/30-day averages. They are not broken down by card language or condition, and individual Cardmarket offers are not included.
Some sources need a paid plan, and some cost extra credits per card. See Pricing for which plan includes what.
How far back history goes
| History | Starts | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| English card prices | Late January 2025 | Daily, per printing and condition. Cards released later start when we first tracked them. |
| Japanese card prices | Late October 2025 | Daily. Cards released later start when we first tracked them. |
| Sealed product prices | Late October 2025 | Some English sealed products go back to January 2025. |
| Cardmarket prices (Beta) | March 16, 2026 | English cards only. Each card starts on the day it was first collected. |
| Graded daily prices | Varies by card | Built from the sales we have captured for each grade. Older for some cards, recent for many. |
| Individual sold listings | Varies by card | Kept from when each sale was captured; there is no fixed window. Use each listing's soldDate. Fanatics Collect sales were added in October 2026. |
| Population counts | Current only | Counts as of the latest refresh. There is no dated population history. |
Every API response reports the window it actually applied in metadata.historyWindow. A card with only a few weeks of data returning a few weeks of history is expected, even when you request days=365.
What your plan can request
| Plan | Price history window | Individual sold listings |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Last 3 days | No |
| API | Last 6 months | No |
| Business | All available history | Yes |
| Enterprise | All available history | Yes |
- Without a
daysparameter, history covers the last 30 days. - Business and Enterprise return up to 365 points per series by default. Longer series are thinned by skipping days unless you raise
maxDataPoints, which costs +1 credit per card above 365. - Individual sold listings are returned in full and are not shortened by
days. - A larger plan widens the window you can request. It does not add history for periods before tracking began.
What we don't cover
- Cards printed in languages other than English and Japanese.
- Trading card games other than Pokémon, and sports cards or stickers.
- Prices in currencies other than USD (TCGplayer) and EUR (Cardmarket). We do not convert currencies.
- Price history from before tracking began for each source.
- Dated population history.
- Individual Cardmarket offers, sellers or stock.
This page describes coverage as of the date above. It is not a commitment: coverage, sources, fields and history depth can change at any time, as set out in Section 6 of our Terms of Service. For what each plan permits you to build, see Licensing; for prices and credits, see Pricing.
